Tenosynovitis
What is tenosynovitis?
Tenosynovitis is an inflammation at the junction of the tendon and the shell of the hand, which is caused by frequent movement of the tendon or the tendon sheath.

Excessive friction can cause bleeding, edema and exudation of tendon sheath. Chronic fibrous connective tissue proliferation, hypertrophy, adhesion and other changes are non-bacterial inflammation, mostly at the styloid process of radius and flexor tendon. As a kind of strain disease, tenosynovitis is often seen in women who frequently engage in manual operation. The main clinical symptoms are local pain and dysfunction, which are usually treated by local closure, braking and medication. It has certain curative effect, but it is easy to recur and difficult to cure. Tendon sheath is a sheath-like structure that surrounds tendons. It fixes tendons on periosteum to prevent tendons from bouncing up or sliding to both sides. If tendons are over-rubbed for a long time, injurious inflammation of tendons and tendon sheaths can occur, leading to swelling.

Rehabilitation treatment of tenosynovitis

1.Physiotherapy: high frequency, infrared, microwave, ultrasound, shock wave and other treatments can be used to treat pain sites. Physiotherapy instrument has the functions of pain relief, blood circulation promotion and anti-inflammation. It has a very significant effect on tenosynovitis. The effective rate is about 95%.

2.Traditional therapy:
1) Acupuncture and moxibustion: Warm needling, Ginger-separated Moxibustion or direct needling at Ashi point combined with side needling were used to treat the affected area. The effective rate is 90-100%.
2) Massage: Loosening and adhesion of ligaments at the site of tenosynovitis attack by massage, the cure rate was 61-77%, and the effective rate is 100%.

3) Needle knife: The small needle knife penetrates the affected part and cuts it up and down, releases its tendon fibers and fascia to achieve the therapeutic effect. The overall cure rate is 86.3-98.8%.

3. Drug treatment: The effective rate was 74-96% for external use of fumigation and washing with traditional Chinese medicine and Votalin emulsion, and the incidence of adverse reactions such as rash and pruritus is 4-25%.

Points for attention
1.Follow the doctor's advice and treat.
2.Continuous working hours should not be too long to maintain the correct position of damaged parts.
3.When the affected part of the pain, patients should reduce the corresponding activities, ensuring adequate rest.
4.Do not perform strength related activities in the pain area, otherwise it will aggravate the condition.
